Repair of a 77-m high brick chimney in Sinter plant No. 1
Project Description:
The 2nd stage of a chimney repair included the following:
– Renovation work (masonry) on the outer casing of the chimney, covering approximately 1,500 m2.
– Cleaning the inner face of the chimney shaft by removing the protective casing.
– Repairing the chimney shaft.
– Addressing thermal cracks.
– Repairing the steel equipment of the chimney, including the replacement of a 53-meter-long ladder and the supply and installation of 35 tightening belts.
The work was performed using a suspended work platform that was lowered down as the project progressed. A temperature-resistant material from Sika was utilized for the renovation.
