Demolition of a reinforced concrete chimney of the Monoyer type in Napajedla
Project Description:
The project entailed the demolition of a 51 m high chimney with a diameter ranging from approximately 4.5 to 5 m, and a head measuring 2 to 2.5 m.
The demolition was carried out up to a level of 5.4 m, which corresponds to the roof level of the building that previously enclosed the chimney. After reaching this level, the opening at the base of the chimney was sealed with a wall, and a concrete slab was constructed to cover the demolished chimney head.
The demolition process was conducted manually by workers descending from the installed protective gallery, gradually moving downwards towards the base of the chimney. Simultaneously, an excavator suspended from a crane was utilized for the remaining demolition work.
The debris resulting from the demolition was deposited inside the chimney and consistently gathered and transported to a designated waste dump.
